Oh Scarlett,
I so was hoping that a lust for traveling would run through your veins the way it does for me, and you proved to us that you can handle it with ease and joy. At age 2.5 months, we took you to your first new country, Curacao, a 10-day layover before we got to Venezuela. Scarlett, you proved to us that you can be happy no matter where you are. We were worried that you wouldn't be able to sleep without the swing that you had grown so accostumed to, but you slept in a tiny travel bassinet each night and slept all through the night. Everyone tells us how lucky we are that you allow us to sleep all night and I cannot help but to agree. Thank you, little girl.
But Curacao... it is a paradise and with you, we explored the whole island, checking out the pristine beaches, and allowing you to swim in the Caribbean Sea. Sometimes you loved it and sometimes you hated it.
We also swam with you in a swimming pool in that Marriott, which you definitely preferred.
We went to bars, went on walks, and also celebrated Carnaval with the locals. You rocked it the whole time, little one.
You are growing so quickly. You no longer cry as much, and you smile at us all the time. You love to stand up on your legs and are so, so strong. You can now hold a rattle with your hands, although not for too long- usually you hold it for a bit, then toss it. You also love The Big B, which is the stuffed cow your daddy and I got attached to when we waiting for you to come into our lives. You are just so much fun and I just wanted to thank you for coming into my life. It's been wonderful so far and I couldn't be more grateful for you.
